Representative Millett moved and asked unanimous consent that the                                                               
following committee substitute be adopted in lieu of the original bill:

    "An Act establishing Indigenous Peoples Day."

    Insert "establishing Katie John Day; and"                                                                                 
                                                                                                                                
Page 1, following line 2:                                                                                                       
    Insert a new bill section to read:                                                                                          
   "* Section 1. AS 44.12is amended by adding a new section to read:                                                        
         Sec. 44.12.063. Katie John Day. Katie John Day is                                                                    
    established on May 31 of each year to honor Athabaskan elder                                                                
    Katie John for her fight for subsistence rights and her teaching of                                                         
    the traditional way of life. Katie John Day may be observed by                                                              
    suitable observances and exercises by civic groups and the

Representative Foster moved and asked unanimous consent that
